Hello there! We completed the renderings for what we were going to do with the house before we even closed escrow. I wanted to be sure that we could make the changes we wanted and still be within our budget. It turns out that we might just throw that budget out the window now, because I'm itching for a brand new kitchen! But take a look at these renderings anyway. The main changes shown here are the new hardwood floors throughout the downstairs (which means removing the carpeting and removing the tile), painting all the walls and ceilings, white square paneling on family room back wall, removing the hardware from the fireplace mantle and painting it white, painting the kitchen cabinets white, changing out all the old junky appliances for new stainless steel, installing a range hood in place of the microwave, adding blue/gray subway back splash tile up the ceiling, and of course, new white quartz counter tops.

Not to ruin the ending for you, but we have already been living in the house for a month now, and have completed quite a few of the above mentioned tasks, including removing the tile and carpeting, installing the hardwood, and purchasing the new appliances ( but only the fridge has actually been installed so far), and installing the paneling on the back wall.

We are so excited about our new house!! We closed escrow on December 16th, and moved in that following Saturday the 20th. Right before Christmas!! We have had no furniture this whole week except for our mattress, a crib, and 2 dressers. I paid a visit to Living Spaces during my lunch break at work today and bought a sofa and love seat for the living room, a dining table (but no chairs) for the dining room, and an upholstered headboard and bed frame for our bedroom. I will soon give a separate post outlining my visit to living spaces, what I bought, and a review of the furniture.

Presenting the before pictures of our (very) humble abode:
